Getting started

A clear path from installing the app to putting your first collection strategy to work.

What does SortWise do?

SortWise is a Shopify app that automates the order of products inside the collections you choose. You attach a strategy based on signals such as inventory, sales, profit, newness, or your own Shopify data, then SortWise writes the resulting order back to Shopify.

How do I get started with SortWise?

Install SortWise from the Shopify App Store, choose a collection, and attach a sorting strategy. You can run a sort on demand while you set things up, then enable automated sorting once the order matches the goal for that collection.

Does SortWise require theme code or a storefront script?

No. SortWise writes a Shopify manual sort order or powers an App Collection Source. It does not need theme code or a storefront script to reorder products, so your theme remains responsible for rendering the collection page.

Can SortWise work with Shopify smart collections?

Yes. App Collection Sources let Shopify continue to own collection membership, conditions, other collections, and exclusions while SortWise ranks the products that match. This keeps your existing collection logic in place.

What kind of Shopify store is SortWise for?

SortWise is for teams that want collection pages to stay aligned with inventory, demand, campaigns, and commercial goals. The free plan is a practical starting point for small stores, while paid plans add capacity and advanced controls for larger catalogs.

Plans and pricing

Start free, then add capacity and advanced merchandising controls as your catalog grows.

How much does SortWise cost?

SortWise has a free plan. Paid monthly plans start at $9 for Basic, followed by Pro at $19, Premium at $49, and Enterprise at $129. Plan limits vary by collection, product, and order volume.

What is included in the free plan?

The free plan includes advanced sorting for up to 10 collections, up to 2 Smart+ collections with advanced rules, up to 500 orders per month, and up to 10,000 products. It also includes hourly automated sorting, unlimited sorts, and collection insights and analytics.

What is not included in the free plan?

Product metafield sorting, multi-location inventory, A/B testing, and product grouping are available on paid plans. The free plan still gives you a useful way to automate collection sorting and review collection performance.

What do the paid plans add?

The $9 Basic plan adds metafield sorting, multi-location inventory, A/B testing, and product grouping, along with higher collection, order, and product limits. Pro and Premium increase those limits, while Enterprise supports unlimited collections and products.

Does SortWise offer a free trial?

Paid plans include a 7-day free trial. The free plan is available without a trial, so you can start using SortWise without entering payment details.

Can I change or cancel my plan?

SortWise billing is handled through Shopify. Review your current plan and manage billing from your Shopify admin or the app listing before changing coverage for your store.

Shape the grid

Sorting and merchandising

Use the controls that solve the problem in front of the shopper, from stockouts to campaign timing.

How often can SortWise sort my collections?

Automated sorts run hourly on every plan, including free. You can also trigger an on-demand sort for an individual collection whenever you need to respond to a launch, restock, or merchandising change.

What signals can I sort on?

You can combine signals such as availability, inventory level, variant availability, sales and revenue, profit or margin, discount, publish and update dates, newness, vendor, product type, title, reviews, metafields, and back-in-stock data.

Can SortWise manage sold-out and backordered products?

Yes. You can push sold-out or backordered products down, hide products from a collection, demote by tag, sort by inventory level, or use variant availability so the first screen stays more shoppable as stock changes.

Can I pin products or manually arrange a collection?

Yes. Pin products to the top or to exact positions, and use drag-and-drop when a campaign or editorial decision needs a human touch. Automated rules continue to manage the rest of the collection around those controls.

Can I group products and schedule merchandising windows?

Yes. Product grouping lets you layer collection stories such as launches, gift guides, in-stock products, and clearance. Groups can be time-boxed so a campaign starts and ends without someone needing to rebuild the collection manually.

What is variant availability ratio?

Variant availability ratio is the percentage of a product’s variants that are available for purchase. It helps you distinguish a product with a full size or option range from one that technically has stock but is difficult for shoppers to buy.

Does SortWise support multi-location inventory?

Yes. On supported paid plans, SortWise can rank products using stock at the locations that fulfill the order instead of relying only on total inventory. This helps a location-level stockout influence what shoppers see first.

Learn and improve

Analytics, AI, and support

Move from a merchandising opinion to a decision your team can inspect, test, and repeat.

What analytics does SortWise provide?

SortWise provides collection-level insights including click-through rate, conversion, buried winners, trending products, and visibility waste. Use those signals to see what the current order is doing before you change the strategy.

What does visibility waste mean?

Visibility waste describes products occupying valuable above-the-fold positions without earning the traffic. A sold-out bestseller, a low-margin filler, or a pin nobody clicks can all make the first screen less useful.

Can I A/B test sorting strategies?

Yes. On supported paid plans, Strategy Lab lets you compare two sorting strategies on a collection and review live shopper behavior alongside collection analytics. Use the result as evidence for what to test next, not as a promise of a particular lift.

How does the AI Strategy Generator work?

Describe a merchandising goal in plain English and SortWise turns it into an editable rule set. You can read the rules, adjust them, and apply the strategy like any other collection sort; the generated result is not a hidden score you have to accept blindly.

Can I use review data as a sorting signal?

SortWise can use review signals from supported providers such as Judge.me, Loox, and Yotpo. Combine reviews with inventory, margin, or recent sales to match the goal for each collection.

How do I contact SortWise support?

The preferred way to contact SortWise support is by emailing support@mezereon.freshdesk.com. Your message automatically creates a Freshdesk ticket. You can also use the Help Center Portal; include the collection, strategy, and result you are investigating so the team can understand the merchandising context quickly.
