A collection should know when the campaign is over
A launch, flash sale, or gift guide has a real window. Collection scheduling gives that window an operating rule: the merchandising group leads while the campaign is live, then steps aside automatically when it ends.
Set the window. Keep the fallback.
Add a start and end to a product group. At the scheduled time, that group can take its place in the collection. Before it begins and after it expires, products fall through to the next active group or your normal automated ranking.
That means a collection does not need a manual reset at midnight, and the everyday merchandising logic is still there after the campaign ends.
Timing that matches the retail calendar
- Launch a new-arrivals group for the first seven days, then return to performance ranking.
- Put a flash-sale group first for the exact hours the offer is live.
- Turn a gift guide on for the season and let it disappear when the moment passes.
Schedule the story, not every tile
Scheduling is not a second manual sort. It controls when a collection story is active; the rules inside that group can still respond to inventory, demand, and the commercial goal. Add pins when a hero product needs an exact position, then let the scheduled group and automated ranking do the rest.
