Do not hand Shopify the whole collection
Most sorting apps take over a collection’s manual order and become the only source of products. That is fine until you still want Shopify’s own conditions, another collection, or an exclusion list in the mix.
App Collection Sources let you drop a SortWise-powered source into a native Shopify collection. The app ranks a set of products; Shopify still owns membership — conditions, other collections, and exclusions. You automate the order without ejecting the collection from Shopify’s model.
When to use a source
- A smart collection that must keep its rules, with SortWise ranking whatever currently matches.
- A campaign collection that unions two catalogs, then applies an automated strategy to the combined set.
- Exclusions you already maintain in Shopify and do not want to recreate as app tags.
Theme-safe by design
SortWise does not inject storefront JavaScript to reorder the grid. It writes Shopify’s manual sort (or feeds a collection source). Pages stay fast, apps stay uninstallable, and you can merchandise the collection without adding storefront code. Pair sources with grouped rules and location-aware stock when the membership logic is Shopify’s and the ranking logic is yours.
